What we set, why, and how to turn off the parts you don't want. Last reviewed 6 August 2026.
Cookies are small files a site stores on your device so it can recognise it on a later visit. We also use related technologies that do a similar job: tracking pixels in emails and pages, local storage in your browser, software development kits in mobile apps, and mobile advertising identifiers. Everything below applies to all of them.
Needed for the service to function: keeping you signed in, balancing load across servers, protecting against fraudulent requests, and remembering the cookie choices you already made. These cannot be switched off, and we do not need consent for them.
Tell us which pages are read, where people arrive from and where they give up. Used in aggregate to improve the site. Blocked until you allow them. We deploy these through Google Tag Manager (container GTM-P5MP924), operated by Google Ireland Ltd.
Remember preferences such as language or a dismissed banner, so you are not asked the same thing twice.
Measure the performance of our campaigns and allow relevant advertising on other platforms. These may be set by our advertising partners and can be used to build a profile of your interests. Set only with your consent.
Where our technology runs on a brand's site, identifiers record browsing behaviour, traffic source, approximate location and purchase history so the brand can show relevant content. This is pseudonymised — it is tied to an identifier, not to your name.
First-party cookies are set by the domain you are visiting. Third-party cookies are set by another provider — for example an analytics or advertising platform. Those providers process the data under their own policies, and we recommend reading them if you want the full picture.
Session cookies disappear when you close the browser. Persistent cookies remain for a set period, which varies by purpose — typically days for functional cookies and up to a year or two for analytics and advertising identifiers.
Before you choose, every non-essential storage type is set to denied and our tags behave accordingly. When you save a choice, that signal is updated in place — nothing is set retroactively. Rejecting means the tags still load but cannot write to storage or read an identifier.
Submitting the contact form or the newsletter box sends what you typed to FormSubmit, which forwards it to our inbox. This is not a cookie and happens only when you press the button.
Marketing emails contain a small image that records when the message is opened, and links that record clicks. If you would rather not be measured this way, most email clients can be set to block remote images.
The brand whose site you were on decides what our technology collects there. Direct access, correction and deletion requests to them first. If you cannot reach them, write to us at [email protected] and we will help route the request.
If we make a change that significantly affects how we use cookies, we will highlight it on the site before it takes effect. Continued use of the site after that point constitutes agreement.
